Big thing number two: Touchable 3D holograms
Hailed as the next big thing in gaming and point-of-sale, Shinoda Lab in Tokyo have developed a 3D hologram that can interact with the user and, by using targeted jets of air, give the sensation of touch to the user as well.
People who have used the system have said that it's quite unnerving at first to see, feel and move an object that your mind knows doesn't exist.
It looks set to start making appearances in arcade games and POS advertising sometime in the next few years.
